On Among Trees, "Guitarist Francis Doughty paints wonderful, impressionistic landscapes on his debut CD of original compositions," writes reviewer Paul Burton. These evocative guitar pieces are written in a style that both stands on its own, while reflecting influences of folk, classical and American blues. From the Renaissance lute music of John Dowland to contemporary guitar instrumentalists Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Peter Lang, Ed Gerhard, and a host of others, the garden of Finger-Style Guitar Instrumentals continues to expand and flourish. Francis Doughty's music takes you to another part of that garden. Listen and explore for yourself.
