Unfinished Business is ten of Danny Gatton's diverse and awe-inspiring instrumentals on CD. Brawner Smoot writes in the liner notes, "His style is an amazing amalgam of musical approaches rich with guitar heritage, guided by well-developed rhythmic and harmonic sense and powered by unequaled, ferocious technical ability. The evidence is all over Unfinished Business. "Nit Pickin" is a Cannonball Adderley inspired Gatton original written over a decade ago and resurrected for this CD. Transformed into a compendium of Danny's musical influences, it simultaneously serves as a six minute mini-history of electrical guitar styles. "Sky King" is Danny's tribute to Billy Butler and saxophonist King Curtis, in which Gatton uses a Heinekin bottle as a slide at the end. "Notcho Blues" is a dirty, funky Tele blues with a blazing intro, while Danny's version of Arthur 'Guitar Boogie' Smith's "Fingers On Fire" is twice as funny and five times as fast as the original. If you're a guitarist, you'd better sit down to listen to this."
