Walkabout

Walkabout is the second album release from Swiss guitarslinger Cuthead, aka Dominik Ruegg. Written and produced all by himself, it comes along with real drums this time and is by far his most honest record up till now.
Containing a hearty Rock/ Blues/Fusion mix, the tunes range from soft, mellow solo omprovisations to fully arranged high-speed orgies, mostly performed on vintage Stratocasters. Since Ruegg has worked as a studio guitarist in different genres, it was his intention to keep this record as direct and pure as possible, keeping all the little unexpected things instead of trying to play perfectly - and most of all, to improvise as much as possible. Although it is a very important (and helpful) thing in the every day life of a session player to be "in the pocket", or play in the style of a well-know artist, it sometimes can take away a personal approach to music. You won't find that on Walkabout - it s a very personal recording.
