Timewarp

Spawn of Possession guitarist Christian Muenzner has released his 2011, all-instrumental solo album, Timewarp. The CD features Hannes Grossmann on drums and Daniel Galmarini on keyboards, with bass duties split between legend Steve DiGiorgio and Jacob Schmidt. The German guitarist has also recruited guest soloists such as Shrapnel recording artists Derek Taylor, Per Nilsson, Ryan Knight, Bob Katsionis and Alex Guth. The folks at I'm So Kvlt raved about Timewarp with these words, "Those who've heard his guitarwork should know that Muenzner makes technical death metal sound like fun, which very few of his fellow musicians can boast of. There's nothing overtly pretentious about his compositions, they're all heavy and fast, but in a very fun way, without becoming silly like Dragonforce. This is some insane instrumentation with impeccable flow (with some slower ballad-esque songs like "Soulmates", which will literally make you smile deep down inside and whatnot, no kidding), and shall satiate many an ear, especially those who've been yearning for some quality progressive shred metal - or just to be in awe of the man's prodigious sweeping and tapping skills."
