His first solo album in seven years, Italian fusion guitarist Carlo Fimiani has released Too Early, a CD which, despite the time lapse, is an ideal companion instrumental album to his 2000 release, "Alter Ego". As with his previous release, Fimiani has enlisted the help of a wide range of guest musicians, who add their prodigious chops to his stellar axemanship. Drums are played alternatively by Walter Calloni, Gavin Harrison, Rocco Salzano and Carmine Bruno; bass by Torindo Colangione, Tommaso Seannapieco, Paolo Pelella, Pasquale De Angelis, Dario Deidda and Antonio De Luise; keyboards by Pino Tafuto, Julian Mazzariello, Guglielmo Guglielmi and Alessandro La Corte; tenor sax by Jerry Popolo. Carlo Fimiani parlayed a long stay in Los Angeles into a certificate with Honor at the prestigious G.I.T., studying with Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Brett Garsed and T.J. Helmerich, among others. In addition to his solo work, he has worked with a number of high profile Italian muisicians.
