Brian Brooks, the guitarist's self-titled debut CD, is a true classic rock instrumental treasure. Featuring plenty of music (fourteen songs and over seventy-three minutes of track time), the record features guitar-based statements that evoke the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, early Pink Floyd, Duane Allman, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and George Harrison's slide work. Each piece is uniquely Brooks', yet feels familiar and comfortable at the same time. The guitar dominates each piece as well, with acoustic, electric, slide and psychadelic textures being used alone and in combination with each other. Fans of guitar music with great 'feel' and meaning should check out this release.
