With a deep respect for the great guitar instrumentalists who've burned their wildly imaginative axes into vinyl, The Black Shadows have acknowledged the past by stepping into the future with their own special blend of "Blues" that combines the rapid fire riffs of Dick Dale, the pure raunch of Link Wray and the tasty licks of Freddie King. Bluexotica features twelve instrumental examples of the band's blues/surf/rock, all powered by a California-based trio consisting of Robert Mearns on guitar, Andrew Houseman on bass and Dale Daniel on drums.
