The Storm Rages On features the music and guitar work of Utah's Black Lightning, the project name for guitarist Ethan Skinner's musical concept. The CD contains twelve instrumental cuts rooted in hard rock centered around a 'heavy weather' theme. Tracks such as "Black Lightning", "After The Storm", "Moonlight" and the title track provide the thematic framework for Skinner's improvisational and textural guitar lines, played over a combination of thunderous rhythms and moody, arpeggiated passages. The Storm Rages On also features Skinner on bass, keyboards and drums as well as guitar.
