Beyond It All

Beyond It All is the new CD from guitarist Allen Hinds. The album features an all-star lineup, including Jimmy Haslip, Will Kennedy, Jeff Babco, Jimmy Earl, Larry Kimpel, Tollak Ollestad, and even the great singer Randy Crawford on "Worn But Not Tattered". Hinds remarks, "It's more of a 'song' oriented CD, with a variety of instruments playing melodies and solos. I didn't want this to be a showcase of 'hot licks' - although a few sneak in from time to time!" Melodic blues with a bit of jazz, coupled with Hinds' eclectic touch make every song interesting to listen to. Hinds has been a sideman in Los Angeles for 20 years. He has toured or recorded with artists such as Bobby Caldwell, Gino Vannelli, Roberta Flack, Eric Marienthal, BeBe and CeCe Winans, the Crusaders, and countless others. Hinds has been on staff at the Musician's Institute since moving to Los Angeles in 1985. He has also composed songs for Larry Carlton, Patti Austin, Jeff Kashiwa and a variety of T.V. shows, including CBS' "J.A.G."
