Review of "Zone"

amn, this is great sh*t. Yes, it's an instrumental guitar record, but one that injects the listener with so many great ideas and a perfect performance from the band that it is a pleasure to write about it. This is the band's second full length. (An EP, "Feel The Silence", appeared in '94.) It's hard to describe in words what's happening here. You'll hear some Petrucci, some Malmsteen, some Steve Morse: all interwined with a touch of fresh breath and solid, very solid band support.
It's actually more of a band record than a solo guitarist project. Guitarist Dave Marton shines all over the disc, whether it's a prog-metal tune, Satch-inspired idea, or a jazz/fusion extravaganza.
