One Sound One Song
|
"One Sound One Song", from Zen Guitar, is eleven tracks of samurai street punk from the late guitarist Phil Sudo, who had also written a book entitled "Zen Guitar." Described as instrumental guitar music that is equal parts Jimi Hendrix and the Japanese samurai, Sudo lays thick beds of groove-oriented themes. over a relentless percussion foundation. On "Tomorrow Never Knows," Sudo reinterprets the Beatles classic zen statement with swirling guitar textures, flavored with a classic Hendrix riff. The almost nine-minute "Steamrollercoaster" features charged rhythm work and a Rush-meets-Jimmy Page melodic motif over a furious drum track. In short, "One Sound One Song" offers fifty minutes of driving, electric music for large attention spans.
