Phil Keaggy
"The Wind And The Wheat"
|
"The Wind And The Wheat" showcases the amazing abilities of guitarist Phil Keaggy, who has the talent to express a variety of different emotions--even in one song. For example, in "March Of The Clouds" he starts with a single line, melodic lead which he expands into a rolling, crescendoing, overdubbed double lead. This builds into an explosion of astonishing, rapid fire, ascending leads. Then he follows with gentle volume swells that slowly bring you down as they roll into a classical style of chording and octaves which leads back to the original theme as the song fades. This instrumental offering not only netted great critical approval, it earned a Grammy nomination, as well. "The Wind And The Wheat" is a definite pick for the collection.
