Mortimer Nelson's approach to music is stylistic and yet very adventurous. His first-rate techniques make him a unique guitarist and creator of atmosphere. His latest CD, Well, contains over one hout of instrumental guitar music, and is the follow up to his 2004 album "Poor Player" (which treaded lightly over some of the slipperiest terrain in music, embedded in the no-man's land between jazz and classical). In addition to the eleven all original compositions, Well features one track penned by Paul Desmond ("Take Five"), which Nelson thoughfully rearranged.
