Brook Thompson is a Newcastle, Australia based guitarist who has released his debut CD, entitled Warped. The album is divided into two parts; the first part contains nine instrumental tracks using the Satriani/Vai blueprints while the second part offers four vocal numbers, including a cover of Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love". Warped features Thompson's dexterous musicality and includes the contributions of drummers Darren Brollo and Darren Burtoft as well as bassist David Christensen. Speed and virtuosity are significant elements in Thompson's guitar style, and he adds his own sonic signature to the mix--a 7 string guitar, the sound of which is periodically twisted and bent, hence the album title, Warped.
