Chris Bergson's Wait For Spring finds the jazz guitarist underlining the importance of space, breathing and silence, implying harmony through melody, while the impeccable rhythm section of Neal Miner (bass) and Sunny Jain (drums) cuddle the listener as the guitar prepares for another stream of melodic poetry. The trio's interaction, elaborate through unadorned, brings to mind the intimacy and intelligence of the Bill Evans Trio, whose influence on these young musicians can be readily discerned throughout the album. Bergson's playing displays clarity of concepts and an almost minimalistic interpretation of ideas and feelings, waiving the use of trite formulas. (Notes by Hector Martignon.) Wait For Spring is an excellent recording which clearly states Bergson's intentions (musically) to rise above the scene. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Jazz), total running time, 60:44 - Chris Bergson @ iTunes!
