Review of "Unsung"

aul Abbott's first solo debut is an effort that I welcome into my acoustic CD collection. I find it hard to make a comparison due to the high level of emotion that comes through his music. There are hints of Wil Ackerman and John Abercrombie mixed in there. John favors open tunings a great deal. I also like his use of harmonics, without the aid of electronic wizardry of course. His music is fresh and appealing. This CD is not an aggressive acoustic shred-fest, but it's not meant to be. This is a really easy on the ears compilation. The recording is VERY clean, a great production. Never again will I search for that elusive "what should I listen to during my dinner" CD! Thanks Paul!
