Killer Chops Mark Hard Rock Guitarist's CD
|
Electric Babylon is Denver-based guitarist Danny Masters' fiery, mostly instrumental CD (5 of the 14 tracks are vocal numbers), featuring metal-inflected guitar maelstroms, dynamic displays of technical wizardry, sensitive blues magic--and that's just for openers! Produced and engineered by Four Estate guitarist Dave Beegle, the sound quality throughout Electric Babylon is superb, allowing maximum enjoyment of tracks such as the Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute, "Texas Wind", the heavy hard rock and ripping, jagged riffs of "Black Diamond Run" and the Middle-Eastern inspired textures in "A Christian In India". Fans of modern guitar playing should check out Danny Masters and the intensity he brings to the forefront on Electric Babylon.
Originally from New York, Danny began playing guitar at age 12. He started playing with other musicians in Denver in 1979 where he has been continuously performing with numerous bands around the club circuit. Danny has been teaching guitar for the past 16 years and has studied classical and jazz guitar at the University of Northern Colorado. He was on both the Dean's List of Academic Honor and Dean's List of Distinction and received a Bachelor of Music Degree He won a Graduate School Scholarship from the University of Denver where he later received his Master of Arts. Danny has been in the bands Zuriel, Electric Playground and Mr. Hyde. In 1993, he won the KBPI Steve Vai guitar contest and was featured in an on-air jam with Vai.
Masters currently teaches 50-60 students a week at the Colorado School of Music as well as classes at the Community College of Aurora. He is devoting himself to the Danny Masters Band in support of the release of Electric Babylon.

Classical Guitar Augments New Age Instrumentals
|
World Cafe is a beautiful new age styled, instrumental guitar CD by guitarist/composer Roy Scoutz, who currently resides in the Los Angels area. Inspirational and evocative, the album is cinematically spatial, as classical guitar is framed with modern instrumentation, vox humana, flutes, violas and more. Scoutz plays electric guitar on one number--the moody ballad "Time Can't Stop The Memory", but also performs on piano, synthesizer and mandolin. Truly a versatile performer and a gifted composer, Roy has created a very likable album that will take you on a musical journey through the world according to Scoutz. If you can, be sure to catch one of Scoutz' live performances, if you can't, be sure to obtain a copy of World Cafe for you very own.
Roy released World Cafe, his first CD, in the spring of 1995. Since that time, he has performed in Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Austria, the UK and Portugal. His music has been heard in concert, on radio and in films. A lively performer, Roy moves his audiences with dazzling guitar playing, beautiful ballads and energetic performances. In addition to his own songs, audiences will delight in his unique arrangements of music from Bach to the Beatles. Roy also enjoys performing and singing songs by Eric Clapton and the Doors at his live dates.
Having sold over 3000 copies of World Cafe, Roy is currently recording his follow-up release and an all-solo guitar Christmas CD as well.
