Joel Hoekstra Review of "Undefined" @ iTunes By: Wayne Klinger lot of these guitarists seem to have some sort of broadway background; the same goes for Joel and for some reason, I don't see the connection with guitar playing! The CD here features drummer, Virgil Donati (Planet X/Vai) and bass player, Ric Fierabracci (Frank Gambale,Andy Summers) on 13 tracks of Jazz/Fusion with some more modern stuff like effects and sampling enveloping a fluid and sometimes unorthdox style like that of Vai,Martone and Zappa. What I like even more was the overall emphasis on the other instruments without someoe stealing the spotlight; I think that's a grand gesture on a high scale. This new Blues/Fusion genre style would be ideal for fans of SRV and Cosmosquad as well.
