Brandon Campbell "Trilogies": Track-By-Track

Sacred Ground
Imagine crystal clear waters meandering through a lushly green meadow. Mountains capped with snow appear in the distance. Beauty abounds in this place, truly sacred ground. When I was younger, my family and I would hike to a beautiful place in the Colorado Mountains. A clear stream rushed through a forest. In winter, snow would hide much of the stream. It was a majestic setting. This song tries to capture the awe-inspiring feeling from such a sight!

Afterglow
After the sunset, an imprint of pure raw energy lingers. About 11 years ago, I was unfortunate enough to sit outside for an entire Colorado winter night with no food, no water and very little warmth. That was the longest and the worst night of my life. But even with this, I was still able to appreciate the afterglow from a fire that struggled to burn.

Crying
A long, mournful cry for all the animals that suffer from cruel and abusive treatment. I wrote this song while looking into the eyes of a Mountain Lion. A picture of a Mountain lion, that is. The setting was supposed to be natural, but it was not. I could tell the cat was not happy.

Twilight
A simple tribute to those that lost their life in battle. This melody came to me as I watched a TV documentary on WWII. The sacrifices that were made make me humble.

Illuminescence
Imagine a brilliant white light. This light offers an omnipotent feeling of love and peace for us all. To me, this song represents the white light of the Holy Spirit. The simple elements of this song captivate me on every listen. It always makes me smile.

Perrpetua Seven
Stand strong with courage, strength and conviction when facing an adversary. A relentless fight is always justified when spiritual integrity has been compromised. Around 100 AD, a lady named Perpetua lived in Northern Africa. Because She was a Gnostic Christian, She was persecuted. The Roman Empire sentenced Her to death by being "fed" to wild animals in a colisseum for all to see. It is known now that She stood for what She believed in until She was physically unable (She was hard to kill). This is the boldest display of courage that I have ever heard.

Precambrian Spark
A tribute to the beginnings of life on Earth. It has been said that, before the Spark the Cambrian Period, an electric spark started it all. I envisioned a stormy night on a primordial sea for this song. The sounds on the song's intro represent that. The thunder right before the guitar comes in represents the powerful lightning strike that may have given birth to the first forms of life.

Traces Of Life
Approximately 360 million years ago, some species of amphibians and life reptiles moved from water to dry land. Imagine the footprints or “finprints” that marked the land. This song is about new beginnings. In so many aspects of life change is inevitable. We continually face situations where adaptation is key to moving forward.

Before Christ
Jesus of Nazareth Jesus of Nazareth changed the world. Ideas, morals, attitudes and social structures (to name just a few) were forever changed. Sometimes I wonder just how much progress has been made since the time of Jesus. On one hand, its obvious;but, on the other, it seems to be a digression. From the perspective of many, Christianity was at its purest form in the 250-300 years after Jesus was crucified. Was the religion hijacked from its original path?

Celestial Artisans
Artists in our world eventually move on to create beauty in the afterlife. The Artisans Music of the Spheres should be well worth the wait. Two sources of inspiration for this song: 1. A great friend of mine and superb musician passed on a few years ago and I wanted to honor him with a song, 2. A far out book called The Urantia Book. This book talks about artists on The Other Side and calls them Celestial Artisans.

Race For Avalon
The mythic Isle is beautiful and enchanted. As it appears momentarily in a Avalon thick mist, it is a race against time to find the mystic treasures it holds. I like to think of magic when I hear this song. I have loved The Arthurian Legend (Excalibur, Knights of the Round Table, etc.) ever since I first heard it. And there are some that believe the legend to be true!

Thinning Of The Veil
Human existence is continually growing closer to Heaven or The Other the Veil Side. The veil that separates our two worlds is getting thinner all the time. Musically speaking, the main theme is divided into two main parts: it descends in a minor key and ascends in a major key. I like to think of this as The Other Side trying to break through to our slower vibrational level as we strive to rise to their level, respectively.
