Each time I play it I'm in the seventh sky. I think there is a really good mood. I especially like when it goes from the cool soft jazz intro to this big riff. The second melody part is quite interesting, in fact, it is almost a jazz chord melody with chords changes and diminished stuff played with a big distorted sounds and heavy rhythm guitar parts behind it so it keeps the power. It is not the flashier stuff, but I think that you do not hear that kind of parts really often. You have an interesting interlude with a harmonised whole tone motif and the solo is (like most of the solos from this record) improvised and for this one a first take (Sometimes we are lucky …). Nice tune to start the show.

This is considered a genius level IQ-not mine! Someone else's. I had all the parts and I put them together right before we recorded it. I mean right before! I was writing the parts down on a piece of paper as they were working on the mic placement for the tune.

  The Moment The Apple Falls
This tuning sounded good because it seemed to have a nice overall range. I wrote this in sections. I couldn't decided how to put them all together. So I wrote them all out and made three copies of each one. Then I cut them up and tried putting them together in different ways. I liked them all but decided on this way. I threw the two other versions away because I didn't want to get confused or be tempted to change it around after a while.

  No Two Ways About It
This tune began as a simple lick, but I was stuck there until I shared it with a friend. He helped me shake out of the rut and see that the tune could go in many directions. I went home and finished the piece. Later I found that he had also written his own piece based on the starting idea. Our two songs are quite different, but share a common thread. Tuning: DADGAD
