The Usual Unusual
This odd meter riff had been spinning around in my head for some time. Even though it is a 11/8 followed by 25/16 rhythm it still grooves somehow. One day I sat together with New World bassist Bernd Fuxa (who also played on my first solo CD). He had some pieces of an old fusion tune of his and they fit perfectly. So I put everything together and that's how this song happened. The "Silly Swing" intro is a funny, tongue-in-cheek idea that I came up with while sitting on a plane to Italy.
