Gentle Gentle was the second track recorded for the CD. The keyboard sound dictated the tempo on this track. Whenever we hear Denny play that sound we want to play something slow and more melodic.

Blue In Green Traditionally a ballad by Miles Davis, we transformed it into an up tempo flamenco rumba with killer solos and a driving rhythm section.

Dark Ages "Dark Ages" was written and recorded in a few days. What I wanted to represent with this track was the Dark Ages time period - all its roughness and mystery; tribal wars and witchcraft! Which is why this tune is always oscillating between romantica and brutal moments. Hope you enjoy!

The Clown This one is about joy; about letting the spirit of child we all have inside rise come out. This is one of the first instrumental tunes I've ever written, in 1990.

Return From The Red Bananaworld Well , I wanted to have something funny as a title for this song and the normal thing is the yellow banana, as there doesn't exist any red bananaworld , it was enough funny for me like this . But, a friend of mine with a dirty mind and joy forever said, "Well , the man has a banana in his pants, and the red bananaworld is the world of the women having the period, therefore red... Well, it made sense to me so, to you? I like the story.

The Flight Of The Bumble Blues When I was at college I read somewhere that Rimskykorsikov's Flight of the Bumble Bee was the ultimate virtuoso show stopper, so I dug out my 100 popular classics record and learned it that night. It took me ages to perfect and I didn't perform it until years later, but everywhere I perform people always ask me to play it. The blues part of the tune came about at a jam night in north London where everyone was playing very bad blues and after a few liquid inspirations and a little coaxing from my mate I took it upon myself to embarrase myself by playing very bad blues. After about the second chorus of a 12 bar I decided to quote flight of the bumble bee, then proceeded to play the most egotistical widdly nonsense and then recapitulate my newfound bumble bee theme. The audience went nuts!
They hated it because it wasn't proper blues and I played too fast. It was then that I realised that I had something. The rest of the tune came about because I had to give another performance in Scotland and I wanted to pad it out a little. Again due to my love for fine ales I decided that it would be a great idea for the middle bit if I were to rewrite bumble bee in the style of JS Bach.
So I did.

00-0 Basically this short little song is a "spoof" or something of that
nature, of the James Bond Theme. It is featured on the DVD YOU ONLY
DIE ONCE (A LOW BUDGET JAMES BOND SPOOF). John Wardlaw used a Fender
Strat played through a MORLEY JD10 to emulate that 1960's Bond theme
sound. Written by John Wardlaw.

Zach`s Theme When I first set out to do this album I wanted only new material, songs that had been written since my first release. Then I bought a new acoustic
guitar towards the end of recording, and for the first time in years, I was able to play this old favourite from ten years ago. Well enough to record
any way. I decide to record it using a simple format and it ended up sounding good enough not only to include but to open the album up. "Zach" is
a nickname a girlfriend gave me years ago - from Dr Zachary Smith of "Lost in Space" fame.

Blues For Arnie "Blues for Arnie" is a piece dedicated to the seminal composer Arnold Schoenberg. Not strictly a blues, its structure embodies the energy and emotion that the blues has brought to American music.

A Few Dozen A well disguised swinging twelve bar blues. A Few Dozen is a sortie into counterpoint using the traditional form of a 12 bar blues. The guitar and bass both play a 12 measure melody which contains two statements of a 12 tone row. (Hence the name A Few Dozen.) These independent voices work with a system of hexatonic groupings which give a soloist greater flexibility for improvisation within serial based structures.

Sometimes The riff was recorded with the Ampeg and the Jackson KE1. There is a modulation within the first riff: The middle parts in lofi - quality sare played with the Telecaster and Marshall 2204. An old MesaBoogie Studio Preamp was used for solo guitar. From CD 1:25 min you can hear a nylon string, a "real" spanish guitar, built by Manuel Lopez Bellido, Granada, Spain. In the following solo a VOX Wah was put to used. The ending solo is intentional. If you think it's too long, just skip to the next track.
