Michael Schenker

"The Odd Trio"

The Story
"The Odd Trio" is an all-instrumental, groove-heavy, 'in-the-pocket' collection of ten tracks; the trio consisting of Michael Schenker on guitars, Harry Cobham (?) on bass, and Kathy Brown (?) on drums. While an absolute must-have for Schenker fans, general instrumental guitar fans will get a lift from the compositional style of Mr. Schenker, who can tell a better story with his axe than almost anyone out there today. The solos blaze, as you might expect, and if you relish the idea of listening to great guitar without Mogg, Barden, McAuley, Bonnett, et. al., this one's a no-brainer. One reviewer wrote, ""The Odd Trio" is somewhere between a "serious funny" and a "funny serious" release. I personally believe that Harry Cobham and Kathy Brown are none other than the "Meister" himself! Look at the pictures from the CD insert, everybody agrees?"
