Already hearalded as "a monumental achievement in contemporary jazz" (Japan's prestigious magazine, Swing Journal), Steve Khan's The Green Field is the realization of the guitarist's unique musical vision. John Patitucci, Jack DeJohnette and Manolo Badrena return to form the core group, and the 18-minute title track may well be Khan's most important work to date. On four of the tracks, the trio is augmented by the dynamic Latin percussionists, Ralph Irizarry and Roberto Quintero. Khan add this about the title track, "Because of the length of the track, it had to be placed last in the sequence as one does not want to make people a 'prisoner' of the track. One can only hope that, even in this "rush, rush, rush" world, a few of you will make the commitment of time, at least once, to go on this journey/adventure with the four of us. In that event, the four of us would want to express our gratitude." Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Jazz), total running time, 77:10 - Steve Khan @ iTunes!
