he Great Explorers shows the guitar techniques of this prolific and reknowned musician. Taking a much more intense approach to his writing than prior solo efforts, Gambale finds himself borrowing from the styles of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Obviously Gambale has a much more jazz flavored technique than either of those two, but he cranks up his amps, and lets loose thoughout this CD. This is a full out CD of high paced instrumental fusion that really empowers FG to show what many of his fans already were well aware of - his blistering technical expertise on his chosen instrument, the guitar. This CD is a must for great instrumental fusion guitar afficianados.
