French guitarist Manu Livertout enters 2007 with a fine metal instrumental album, The Bounder, which offers 10 instrumental tracks and 5 featuring the vocals of Guillaume Bideau (Mnemic), who also had contributed vocal tracks to his 2002 CD, "Autoparody". The vocal tracks are influenced by bands such as Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Rage Against The Machine, and Korn, whereas the instrumental tracks showcase guitarist Livertout in his element - shredded licks, high-speed playing and aggressive rhythmic churn. Back with his seven-string Ibanez guitars, Livertout blends neo-metal, rock, progressive metal and fusion techniques over the thrashing rhythm section of drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork), and bassist Loic Colin. The Satriani cover, "Ice 9", features many guest guitarists, including Patrick Rondat, Christophe Godin, Kermheat, Pascal Vigne and Steven Blackwords. Check out some of the newest happenings in French metal. (Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics). Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Heavy Metal/Shred), total running time, 53:57
