Yngwie J. Malmsteen

"The Best Of '90 - '99"

The Story
"The Best Of '90 - '99" is a retrospective of Yngwie J. Malmsteen classics beginning with the "Seventh Sign" CD, through 1999's "Alchemy" album. Additionally, a cheeky little bonus cover of the ABBA superhit "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" opens the collection. For the purposes of this recording, it's essential we take a long look at Yngwie's criminally underrated output after the "Fire And Ice" CD to realize how vibrant his music remained, especially in the face of adversity. The guitarist bounced right back after he lost his PolyGram major lablel deal with a new independent deal, and recorded "Seventh Sign" (1994), "Magnum Opus" (1995), "Inspiration" (1996), "Facing The Animal" (1997), "Double Live" (1998), "Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra In E Flat Minor OP. 1 - Millennium" (1998) and "Alchemy" (1999).
