Review of "Tech Noir"

pix
By: John Nicholas

letter reigg Fraser's most recent release, "Tech Noir", adds some techno-style synth parts to what he started on "Making Waves", as well as being a more rocking CD overall. The guitar work is more aggressive in general with "Superluminous" and "Bughunt" being the heaviest. "Cityscape" brings back the chorusy clean guitar I liked from his first CD. The closer, "Voices of the Air", is good high-energy rocker that also features several different guitar sounds. Overall "Tech Noir", shows better songwriting than "Making Waves", with a wider variety of playing and melodies. In the future I'd like to hear him with a real band.
