Porty is a Spanish guitarist specializing in electric hard rock and fusion who has released his debut CD Tangram. Putting the music and thematic material first is top priority for Porty, but having said that, this is one smokin' guitarist (completely self-taught as well). Listen to the versatile guitarist on tracks such as "Glue Trap", "The Pickpocket" or "Playin' Tricks" - can this be the same musician who can play with such sensitivity on the acoustic "Someday"? Tangram will keenly interest the Satriani, Timmons and Vai fans of course, but there is a lot going on here, as Porty will delve into fusiony jazz a bit more than his influences might care too. All out rockers such as "In Small Doses" proves Porty is comfortable occupying that space as well. A very worthy debut.
