Guitarist Paul Johnson was commissioned last year by Golly Gee Records (which usually specializes in surf and rockabilly music) to record an acoustic solo-multitrack album featuring instrumental renditions of his favorite Christian music. After a very fruitful twelve months of work, the Take These Hands CD is now available. Featured are Johnson's unique treatments of songs from a wide variety of genres and periods. Ranging from traditional hymns to southern and black gospel to contemporary worship songs, these are Johnson's interpretations of sixteen songs, most of them familiar, that he has grown to love over the years. Johnson has sought to render this wonderful music with a clear expression of the many shades of feeling that it inspires in his (chief among which is heartfelt reverence and joy).
