Albums Worth A Listen
|
|
"V" is regarded by many fans as one of Symphony X's greatest albums, a classically inspired, musically loaded, majestic tour-de-force, featuring Michael Romeo on guitar. Featuring technically complex rhythms, Romeo's metallic, rapid, low-string riffage, soaring melodies, throbbing bass work (Michael Lepond) and an album length concept. For those uninitiated to Symphony X's music, combine elements of Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Kansas, and a couple of other '70s progressive bands and shake with dashes of 1800's classical composers and you'll get a frame of reference - for openers. "V" has enough musically challenging arrangements that guitarists will be rearranging their own music after being sufficiently inspired. Get it.
