This tune has kind of a southern rock feel to it, like it was originally called. The rhythms were based on an E Mixolydian type of groove. Out of all the modes, Mixolydian is my favorite. Tuned down to D, it takes on a nice low feel to it. I wanted to fill up a little more time at the end, as I felt it was too short. I decided to add a few fills & some cool sound effects & call it a day.

Appropriately named, I thought. Makes you feel good when you listen to it. The melody was kind of tough to come up with cause there seems to be a lot going on in the background during the verses. I originally had a different riff for the verses but it was too busy for a melody. The original solo was too flashy & I liked it, but it didn`t need something mind blowing, just something that fit. Needless to say, it was re-done to what you hear now. I really like the ending solo, as I think it was done tastefully.

Originally this song was done with a strong ping-pong delay & a flanger/chorus on it. I changed it around a little cause it sounded too late 80`s. I really like playing the rhythms on this tune. Again, it just had a good feel to it. I wasn`t happy with the original ending. It kept going away from the original idea, so I cut it down to where I was happy with it. Like Perfect, this tune was one of the more difficult songs to record. It had a lot of tracks to mix & some effects to play around with.

Done with the 7 string to get the low heavier tone. The main riff reminded me of a Kid Rock tune, I don`t know why. The harmonies are Queen-like. I like the separation too, keeping it interesting to listen to in stereo. I figured I have room in the solo section to get a little nuts ala Petrucci & Vai. I`m happy with the way this one turned out.

I stumbled on this one while writing another tune. Kinda sounds like Rob Zombie to me. Gotta like using flangers! I had another melody to use for the chorus, but it was too happy sounding, so I changed it. Besides, it wouldn`t live up to its name! The solo section is balls out! I figured one of these tunes was going to have a "balls out" solo & this one seem to be the one! A billion hours of practice worth!

I played around with this idea for a while, trying different things to make it interesting, but nothing worked out. I put it on the shelf cause I couldn`t come up with anything I liked to finish it. Towards the end of this project, I yanked it back off the shelf & voila! The pre-chorus sections kinda have a Vai feel to them. I wanted to just focus on the riffs & overall feel of the song & not throw in too many flashy things in there. This song is best consumed while listening to in a quick sports car on a mid-summer afternoon with the windows down, sunroof open, convertible top down, girlfriend`s top down, whatever is your pleasure...

Techno sounding? I hate to admit it, but some of that keyboard stuff sounds cool. I came up with the background stuff first, then added the 7 string guitar rhythms to keep it heavier sounding. The drums kinda sound pop-like, but they seem to fit really well. I really liked the main melody in this tune & some of the solo parts. The beginning & ending reminds me of U2`s Elevation (just the beginning of their tune). Hope you like!

This tune was one of the more difficult songs to record. Tons of tracks on it & difficult to mix. See if you can locate where the gong is that was used. I`m really pleased with the way it turned out. The 2nd fill & main solo are some of my favorites. They just say so much without a ton of notes. Some guitar players may admit it, but sometimes you stumble on a note or a phrase that strikes something in you so deep, that it is something more than you can explain. This song was one of them.

With her in mind, this one was written for my lady. It has an older vintage sound to it mixed with a current melodic lead. It kind of gave me a Matchbox Twenty feel to it when writing it. This one had a different ending to it originally, but I decided to cut it, cause it just sounded better. The solo section has a nice background with a dirty Marshall tone it that you can`t just get anywhere! Alright, maybe you can.

This one was written for a friend that lost his life in a motorcycle accident. He was a big music buff & turned me on to some of the greatest music that I currently listen to. It was recorded in one take, no overdubs! I just recorded it a bunch of times & picked out the one that, I thought, turned out best. It`s kind of a stretch away from the guitar, but I`ve always enjoyed playing keyboards. People seem to really like it, so I`ve put it on the CD. This one`s for you Bill B!
