Review of "Strad To Strat"
|
By: Wayne Klinger
ard to explain this guy from Oregon who pretty much has mastered the Neo-Classical thing with improvising Classical pieces and adding guitarwork to them. Despite the likes of Yngwie and his pet clone, Joe Stump, George Bellas, The Great Kat and Impelitterri and a few others that done this already, Kevin is an excellent musician when it comes to unorthodox time signatures (7/16,11/16,etc.). Classical music interpreted off of "Strad.." are the works of Bach, Wieniawski, Korsakov, Paganini and others. This more or less depends on what kind of listener you are what kind of critic considering this guy's weapon of choice is a '74 Strat. (Yngwie's is a '75..both are cream colored..sound ironic?). I would like to hear more "electric" stuff from this guy in the future; deserves to be heard.
