An ancient saying states that a picture is worth one thousand words; a practical example may be worth at least a few hundred more words.
Below you will see an example of a typical page sponsorship. This one is for a ficticious music retailer, Sugerwater Sound & Music, Inc., who is using the page sponsorship to talk about the benefits of Taylor Acoustic Guitars.
Notice the name of the sponsor and the text appear at the very top of the page, directly to the right of our logo and essential navigational links.
A page sponsor is given 60 characters for their name ('John Smith', 'Raleigh Rescue Mission', 'Cub Scout Pack 34', 'Groovtube Music', 'Apple Computer, Inc.', etc.), and 250 characters for their message.
Additionally, a link to a web site or web page, such as MySpace, Facebook, etc., can be entered.

Let's zoom in for a closer look at the page sponsorship area.
We previosly mentioned that a page sponsorship entry consists of three elements; the sponsor name, message text, and an optional link to a web site or web page.
If a web link has been provided, then clicking on the sponsor name will take the clicker directly to the sponsor's web page.
Just below the message text will appear two buttons. One button will allow visitors to learn how they can sponsor their own page, while the other is a button to allow a potential sponsor to 'purchase' the page by putting it into their shopping cart. This can be done only when the page is available, ie. does not have a person or company already sponsoring the page.
Does Every Page Have An 'Add Page To Cart' Button?
No. There are some pages which are dynamically created, which are not available for sponsorship. The most familiar page in this category is our Shopping Cart page.
Basically, if the 'Add Page To Cart' button appears at the top of the page, then that page is available for sponsorship.
Can A Sponsor Have A Different Message On Every Page?
Yes. A sponsor has the ability to have a different message on every page they sponsor (great for companies with multiple product lines, or areas of focus), or a sponsor can have the same message appear on some (or all) of the pages they sponsor.
Can A Sponsor Put Anything Into Their Message?
For the most part, yes. You can use the message text to promote your band, to say happy birthday, to propose marriage, to publicize a new product, to raise awareness of a social cause, to promote the artist whose page you're sponsoring, or any of a thousand other possibilities.
There are however, some simple message guidelines which need to be followed, and Guitar Nine Records will approve every message before it begins running on the site. We reserve the right to reject any sponsor message for any reason, but the fact of the matter is that 99.9% of all messages will have no problems being approved. Usually, approval will take place within 24 to 48 hours.
