<title>"Volume Two" by Mountain Of Power (Hard Rock/Blues)</title>
<link>http://www.guitar9.com/guitarmusic9/volumetwo.html</link>
<description>On this outstanding follow-up to the first Mountain Of Power disc, guitarist Janne Stark and company dig in deep on an awesome collection of killer '70s hard and heavy rock that lands bad-ass with tons of outstanding riffage and "musical brotherhood" - all in the name of serious guitar rock. Tons of guests include Jay Jesse Johnson, Ty Tabor, John Norum, Thomas Larsson and Craig Erickson, just to name a few. Brother Janne Stark (Locomotive Breath / Constancia / Balls / Overdrive) is a solid man of rock with an impeccable ear for the riffage that matters. The Man is an unstoppable heavy guitar force who successfully nails down this incredible guitar-heavy musical document. Volume Two includes righteous, mind-blowing, heavy, retro-'70s "cover jams" complete with extended lead-guitar action. Mountain Of Power covers tracks by the following bands/guitarists: Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Uli Jon Roth and Electric Sun, UFO, Pat Travers, Rory Callagher, Leslie West, ZZ Top, Blackfoot, Trapese, Y&amp;T, Ozz, Trigger, Sammy Hagar and the Resurrection Band. All guaranteed to rock your good jam:house into the ground. If you love classic obscure '70s heavy guitar rock dig in deep, brothers and sisters, the Mountain Of Power is just what the doctor ordered.

<title>"Bionic" by Doug Rappoport (Shred/Hard Rock)</title>
<link>http://www.guitar9.com/guitarmusic9/bionic.html</link>
<description>Bionic is the mega-awesome debut studio disc by this phenomenal axerippin' guitar shredder from California. Featuring eight tracks of powerful, intense, terrifyingly killer, over-the-top, serious, heavy guitar six string madness that will blow your mind and rip your brain into a million pieces. Doug Rappoport (who currently holds down the guitar gig in Edgar Winter's band) is an exceptional, highly impressive axemaster who combines remarkable superhuman technique, blinding articulate speed and bad-ass, get-down, bluesy feel that all add up to create heavy guitar perfection. Imagine if Superman and the Terminator played guitar and you start to get the picture. Rappoport's bad-ass, brain-damaging, muscular, heavy take on Voodoo "Rapps" Child (Hendrix) is mind-blowing beyond belief and worth the price of admission to this essential, killer heavy guitar disc. Bionic is an impressive, brutal heavy guitar tour de force that showcases the amazing, diverse heavy guitar talents of this phenomenal, obscure axemaster.

<title>"Invisible Force" by Rivera/Bomma (Hard Rock/Neo-Classical Metal)</title>
<link>http://www.guitar9.com/guitarmusic9/invisibleforce.html</link>
<description>Christopher J. Kelter at Roughedge.com writes, "Rivera/Bomma's Invisible Force has a wide ranging set of songs covering all the best that the melodic hard rock genre offers. Everything from hard rockers to ballads are included. It goes without saying that the band's namesakes are the highlights of Invisible Force. Vocalist Johnny Bomma, formerly of Hades, has a strong voice with extraordinary control. Guitarist Rivera runs the gamut from power chord frenzies to super-restrained acoustic guitar. Joining Bomma and Rivera are 'hired guns' whom play the support roles with studious accompaniment throughout, providing the backing touches that all keyboardists, bassists, and drummers can ever expect to achieve. The band's positive messages are a welcome event in a world drowning in negativism. Fans of Dio, Stryper, and Deep Purple will all find something to like in Invisible Force."

<title>"Odyssey" by Reflection (Heavy Metal)</title>
<link>http://www.guitar9.com/guitarmusic9/odysseyreflec.html</link>
<description>Nicky Baldrian at AOR Dream Zone writes about Odyssey, from the Greek band Reflection, "As a comparison, I would direct fans of Symphony X and older bands like Annihilator, Dream Theater and Yngwie Malmsteen to the excellent music of Reflection who are fast becoming one of Greece's leading exponents in technical, neo-classical power metal. The album, featuring guitarist Stathis Pavlandis, is a conceptual piece based on the story of Odyssey, there are many narration passages in Greek between each song, which give the album it's epic appeal. "Journey To The Other Side" punches with jolting riffs and neo-classical melodies, while "Between Bitch And Charibdis" is another fantastic song, fiery and aggressive with a Dream Theater/Yngwie Malmsteen/Alex Masi influenced approach. Another highlight. "Zeiphnez" is a song that just stunned me; the roaring guitars give the song an almost Megadeth feel circa "Rust In Peace". Reflection's second album is every bit of a winner for fans of classic epic power metal - here we witness a band with true potential."
