An amazing acoustic guitarist from Denver, Ted Reece won the 1996 National Guitar Workshop composition award, Employing alternate tunings and standard tuning on his debut Song For America, the CD crosses a variety of acoustic guitar styles. Reece uses a left handed, over-the-neck Preston Reed style of tapping where flourishes of chords are struck at a blitzing pace, interspersed with quick tapping along the neck as well as the guitar's body. The CD offers pretty ballads as well as a Kottke-ish slide number, as the music peaks the interest of the listener with fascinating picking and strumming. Always melodic, and performed with a great amount of feeling, Song For America will satisfy the listener that enjoys hearing interesting techniques on the guitar. Instrumental Guitar (Acoustic/Fingerstyle), total running time, 36:03 - Ted Reece @ iTunes!
