Surf/Rock
Take it from none other than George Tomsco of The Fireballs when he says, "Somewhere In California, in my opinion, is probably not a complete enough title for this CD. How about adding... And Everywhere Else! When I was asked by the guys to do the liner notes, I'll have to admit, I thought it might be a bit difficult reviewing 19 tracks of guitar surf music, but The Torquays (featuring Steve Soest and Armin Brown on electric guitar, Don Parra on bass guitar and Duff Paulsen on drums, marimba and electric guitar) really pulled this one off by expanding the horizons of surf music boundaries... These tunes are well written, tastefully recorded and produced. Hats off to the performance of The Torquays! Play it, and you'll wind up listening to it again and again. I believe it very well may take you on a musical adventure to Somewhere In California... And Everywhere Else!" And remember gang, The Torquays use Fender guitars and amplifiers, Ludwig drums, Zildjian Cymbals and Academy Award Clothier jackets exclusively - except when they use something else! Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Surf/Rock), total running time, 51:08 - Torquays @ iTunes!
In your opinion, which guitarist has a similar style or sound as Steve Soest?
