This tune was written 8 years ago, shortly after giving up alcohol. I woke
up and walked into the kitchen and the bass line, drum beat and alternating
guitar chords seemed to have just dropped into my mind during the night.

A song about parts of my personality I had to change.

This is just a bit of fun. I had the basic idea for ages but then stumbled
upon this thing where I`d slow the tape down, play the 1st 3rd, 5th, and 7th
notes of a scale like a chord on one track, then play the 2nd, 4th, 6th and
8th on the other. Pan them apart from each other slightly, then speed the
tape back up again. You get this sort of DOH-RAY-ME effect but like a piano
with the sustain pedal on, getting every note of the scale to ring rather
than just one at a time guitar style. Took hours but reminded me of Les Paul
when I heard it finished.

Twenty years after my fathers death I was doing a lot of reflecting, this is
part of it.

Experimenting with as many sounds as I could get out of the guitar without
actually plucking the string.

Wrote this on a nasty old acoustic then recorded it a couple of years
later. Did the solo at home in London at about 3.00am. The headphones were very loud.
