Dream Theater
Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence

The Story
Dream Theater, the quinessential progressive metal band, returns with their 2002 release, "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence", a two CD set of all studio material. Petrucci and company explore a slightly new direction with this material, adding more symphonic and fusion influences into their progressive base. The addition of keyboardist Jordan Rudess, a Juilliard trained musician and possessor of a prolific wealth of musical knowledge, gives Petrucci and Portnoy even more musical challanges to meet and beat, and over the course of the album, the four instrumentalists use every trick, experience and influence (from Pantera to Liquid Tension Experiment) to wring the most from each composition. "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" will probably thrill most Dream Theater fans, and possibly add a whole new crop of fans who still thrill to excellently performed, creative music.
