Drummer Mike Terrana on Shadows Of The Past, his solo CD, "This CD commemorates the 30th Anniversary of my drumming career! I wanted to make a drum oriented CD, but I didn't want it to be a boring self-indulgent collection of drum solos. I felt it was important to show people another side of my playing style. The melodies and the arrangements of the songs were just as important as the grooves that propel them." To achieve this, Terrana enlisted the help of super bassist Kevin Chown, who co-produced, played bass, and recorded and mixed the album. The CD also features a number of guest guitarists, included Steve Lukather (solo guitar on "Pleasure Cube" and "Press One For English"), George Burnhart ("Samantha"), Brian Lord ("Press One For English", "Shadows Of The Past", "Rio")and Paul Kramer ("Internal Affair"). Oh, and not to disappoint his drum fans, Terrana added an almost 12 minute drum solo at the end ("Communication") recorded in Holland on his most recent tour of Europe, and which truly captures the primal energy, spirit and sole of his drumming.
