On Steve Fister's debut release "Shadow King", the guitarist composer gets back to making music the way he hears it. Rhythm plays a large role in this ensemble-like album, but never sacrfices melody or raw emotion. Fister states, "It's very important to retain a live but refined dynamic feel in the studio. Rather than over producing the guitar parts, I try to keep an open honesty, letting the feel of the song dictate my approach." "Shadow King", which also features Greg Bissonette on drums and the incredible Stu Hamm on bass, shines with excellent guitar work throughout, mixing electric blues and high-tech soloing on eight instrumental tracks and three vocal numbers.
