Review of "Rosewood"

@ iTunes
letter coustic fingerstylist JIM EARP delivers an appealing mixture of British folk (Jansch, Renbourn, Legg) and California freestyle (Hedges, de Grassi, Ackerman). Alex de Grassi's influence is evident in Earp's open-C-tuned tribute to his wife, while his second selection, in open A, emulates the joyous feel of an old-time Appalachian fiddle breakdown. Throw in driving rhythms, beautiful, crystalline tone, and deft hammer-on and pull-off technique, and you've got one fine player.
