At a time when jazz was undergoing an unprecedented charge of electricity, this edition of keyboardist-composer Chick Corea's Return To Forever produced some of the most crackling heat lightning. Having a young guitar wizard like Al DiMeola, who was 21 at the time of these recordings helped score the group with the Jeff Beck/Carlos Santana rock guitar fans. "Romantic Warrior", Return To Forever's first album for Columbia, featured sci-fi mini-epics like the title track, and the gently funky "The Magician" - here, the ensemble soared, and with this freshly remastered edition, never more so. With the seismic rhythm team of bassist Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White - this incarnation of RTF was an instant success.
