World/Flamenco
The well-known and talented acoustic duo Strunz and Farah's 2003 release Rio De Colores displays their original blend of flamenco, Afro-Latin and Latin folk, Middle Eastern and jazz forms. "Fuente Vieja" was inspired by the guitar music of yesteryear, based on the Spanish tango flamenco rhythm. "Bribri" was inspired by the Talamanca coast of Costa Rica, and evokes some rainy impressions absorbed from verdant nature. The theme of "Capricho Nocturno" has a flamenco echo with a romantic undertone and is also based in part on the tango flamenco rhythm. "Vela El Viento" is a fast piece, with the feeling of the wind blowing at your back, while "Bandari" is based on a southern Persian rhythm, with the addition of the virtuosic bouzouki playing of Danny Papkalos. Two Jorge Strunz solo pieces are also noteworthy, "Interludio" and "Estrella Fugaz". Instrumental Guitar (Acoustic/World/Flamenco), total running time, 48:32 - Strunz/Farah @ iTunes!
In your opinion, which guitarist has a similar style or sound as Jorge Strunz?
