Progressive/Fusion
Kevin Ferguson's 2007 CD release, Restless, Reckless & Wild, is as if Ravi Shankar, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Paganini, King Ferus, Bach and Dick Dale were to make music together. Ferguson's music in total is a collection of experiments in the possibilities of exploring punk, virtuoso classical music of the world, ethnic folk dances, acoustic and metal along with other music from throughout history and the world. Much of the results sound like if Frank Zappa, Paganini, Ravi Shankar, Steve Morse, Bach, Eric Johnson, King Ferus and Paco de Lucia decided to make music together. In addition, every new tune is an experiment with something new learned and expressively explored. Not easy to sum up with a few tune samples! Ferguson always was interested in experimenting with cross-pollinations of genres and the instruments common to different genres. Here with Restless, Reckless & Wild, his fourth CD, one finds perhaps slightly more rock bias than before. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Progressive/Fusion), total running time, 47:12 - Kevin Ferguson @ iTunes!
