From the opening chords of Remote Control, artist Pat Thomi takes us on a voyage into the many styles and tapestries of his musical repertoir. Somewhat reminiscent of earlier recordings, Remote Control however, makes the transitsition to a contemporary rock/pop instrumental album. Filled with driving uptempo tracks, great grooves, and stellar guitar playing, each composition is layered with Thomi's distinctive and sometimes fusion based influences. As Thomi says, "This album was something I had to get out of my system!" Remote Control is without a doubt an eclectic and progressive record, filled with great compositions and great production. From the aggressive, driving, and sensual title track, to the sassy blues based "The Bitch" and "Too Much, Too Soon", to the haunting and evocative "Unspoken Words"; each composition shares it's own musical story, leaving it's imprint on the listener. Other highlights from this album include the elegant and emotional "Lady M", layered with beautiful acoustic guitars, and exquisite piano playing by L.A. keyboardist Leon Bisquera, the acoustic inspired "Aria", and the opening track, "Love's Own Time", featuring vocalist Lynn Davis and a lineup of L.A.'s finest. Remote Contol brings together a diverse and progressive collection of compositions. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Fusion/Progressive), total running time, 52:23
