Modern Guitar Vol. 4: An Evening With Guitarist Denis Taaffe captures Denis live in concert on October 29, 2002. At that time, Denis was playing many large rock venues, but he would also take time out to play smaller venues on a regular basis. The result is a unique style which developed from playing these smaller venues. This recording gives a rare glimpse into Denis' unique solo electric guitar style which uses regular guitar and guitar loops done on the fly to create unusual guitar compositions. The smaller venue and style creates a much more intimate atmosphere and 'up close' feel to each track. All the sounds on the CD are guitar based and all the tracks are improvised on the spot with no overdubs or background tracks. It captures the true live performance. Instrumental Guitar, total running time, 69:01

'Hells Canyon'
Review Featured In The Global Muse

By: Michael Allison
t`s not often to hear instrumental music that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of the everyday guitar laced shredding and into a realm of uncharted beauty and imagery. Hells Canyon is one of those instrumental albums that does just that. The music transpires within and inspires throughout the dark realms of your mind and into the deepest valleys of your imagination. Excellent guitar and evolutionary progressive rock compositions are just the beginning. This is definitely a masterpiece that utilizes electronica style rhythms with the raw power of electric guitars and acoustic drums. Hells Canyon has to be the best instrumental album of the year, if not the entire decade
