Having toured the world as David Lee Roth's band and appeared on his "Diamond Dave" CD, The Hideous Sun Demons have recorded their self-titled debut album of all instrumental tracks. From very structured pieces to wide open jams, the Hideous Sun Demons cover a vast array of styles. Formed by longtime Roth drummer, Ray Luzier, the band began to take shape when Japanese guitarist, Toshi Hiketa, was brought on board. DLR bassist, James Lomenzo, became interested in the project and the three players began to write material together. Each member has recorded extensively with household names from the world of rock 'n' roll. In addition, they have all been involved as music instructors at prestigious music schools such as GIT, Osaka School Of Music and PIT. With a love of classic science fiction and horror movies, The Hideous Sun Demons have vowed to stake their claim in the musically high tech world inhabited by such musical super heroes as Liquid Tension Experiment, Niacin and Bozzio Levin Stevens. 'Guitarisma'

ai giudicare un disco dalla copertina! Mi era gia accaduto con l`esordio del
grande Benny Jansson, e anche stavolta mi son messo a ridere vedendo la
frontcover di questo "Guitarisma"...
salvo poi rimanerci di stucco dopo aver sentito le prime note! Si, questa e
musica per i miei orecchi! Non poteva iniziare
meglio la carriera solista del danese Torben Enevoldsen che delizia i palati
dei fans del chitarrismo hard rockeggigante
a-la Satriani, Zaza e Timmons. L`iniziale "Just In Case" parte con un
rock`n`roll riff seguito da una melody guitar che piu
azzecata non poteva essere: il buon Torben sfodera legati e pennate di gran
classe ed estremamente puliti. La ballad "For A Friend" sembra uscita da un
disco di Satriani e quindi e subito melodia sorretta poi da uno stupendo tema;
idem per "Indian Summer" , mentre l`atmosfera si surriscalda con l`uptempo di
"Take Your Pick".
Interessante anche "What If...?" introdotta da dance-beats salvo poi sfociare
in ambito real rock. Da notare la presenza in due brani dell`ex-vocalist dei
Narita Kenny Lubcke che contribuisce al meglio ad un album di puro class rock.
