Hard Rock/Shred
Guitarist Patrick Rondat's Rape Of The Earth was originally released in 1991, and was the French axeman's second solo album. This CD has been described as more technical than his subsequent albums, but Rondat had the skill and experience to know how to combine technique and melody in order to deliver a most satisfying end result. Rape Of The Earth contains heavy-rock 'n' roll, a Django Reinhart composition and classicially influenced pieces which helped Rondat occupy some of the same sonic space as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and John Petrucci. The sound has been re-mastered and is better than the original. A new, more informative booklet was put together, including liner notes written by Patrick (in French. translation available on Rondat's web site), along with new 'old' pictures. Also included are some guitar exercises (in French), two bonus tracks ("The Day After" and "Danger Zone") from the original demo tape, and a CD-ROM track, taken from Patrick's instructional video. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Hard Rock/Shred), total running time, 65:56 - Patrick Rondat @ iTunes!
