Author of the best-selling bass video "Slap and Two-Handed Rock", Brazilian bassist Zuzo Moussawer has released his own exotically-influenced fusion CD, entitled Raizes X Influencias. A follow up album (albeit in a totally new direction) to his first rock-oriented CD, "Express" (released in 1997), Raizes X Influencias blends Brazilian and Arab music with funk, blues, jazz and country touches. Here, Moussawer plays several different basses, as well as pianos, some guitar and even drums, while also composing and producing all the music. Raizes X Influencias also features the participation of some other outstanding musicians, including Robertinho Silva (percussion), Duda Neves (drums), Alexandre Reis, Plinio Romero and Pablo Silva (drums), David Richards (saxophone), Alexandre Blanc and Mauro Hector (guitar) among others. Moussawer's musical influences include Steve Morse and the Dixie Dregs, Albert Lee, Tower of Power, Lenine, Charlie Parker and Michael Manring. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Fusion/World), total running time, 56:58
